    Basquiat Boxing - $2,250

"Basquiat Boxing," this striking piece by Marcellus Art is a vibrant homage to the legendary artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, juxtaposed with the spirited energy of boxing. It depicts a figure that evokes the essence of Basquiat, with hair symbolically styled to reflect his iconic crown motif—a recurring element in Basquiat's own work representing his fight for respect and royalty within the art world. The subject's gaze is direct and challenging, echoing the confrontational nature of a boxer in the ring, perhaps alluding to Basquiat's own battles against societal norms and the art establishment.

The painting employs a vivid color palette, with a bold yellow background that suggests a spotlight or halo, intensifying the focus on the central figure. The red boxing gloves are a powerful symbol of struggle and strength, contrasting sharply against the warm yellow. The words "LAST" and "EVER" on the gloves could imply the lasting impact of Basquiat's work and the enduring fight for recognition that many artists face. Marcellus Art has created a piece that is not just a visual representation but a narrative of resilience, creativity, and the indomitable spirit of artists who shape cultural conversations through their work.

The Low End Theory - $4,500

The Low End Theory by Marcellus Art stands as a visual interpretation of the seminal hip-hop album by A Tribe Called Quest, using abstract forms and stark, contrasting colors to celebrate the record's groundbreaking impact. The piece features bold stripes of red and green on a deep black background, resonating with the album's rhythmic beats and dynamic flow.

The green lettering spelling out "THE LOW END THEORY" seems to pulsate against the darkness, reminiscent of the vibrant, bass-heavy tracks that shook the foundations of hip-hop in the early '90s. The central vinyl record symbol with the group's name encircling it is at once a direct nod to the era of turntablism and a deeper reflection of the cyclical nature of music and cultural influence.

Marcellus Art's recreation of the album cover is both an homage and a visual echo of the album's themes of innovation and connectivity within the genre. This painting not only serves as a tribute to A Tribe Called Quest but also as a broader commentary on the layers and depth found within the hip-hop community, a powerful connection that this artist consistently captures and amplifies through his work.

Make Kanye Great Again - $6,500

"Make Kanye Great Again" is a provocative and vibrant piece by Marcellus Art that offers a complex commentary on the persona of Kanye West, capturing both the artist's genius and the controversy surrounding his legacy. The title plays on the political slogan "Make America Great Again," infusing the artwork with a layered meaning about the intersections of pop culture, politics, and personal identity.

In this portrait, Marcellus uses a bold and unapologetic color scheme, segmenting West's visage and attire into blocks of color that could represent the multifaceted aspects of his public life. The use of red, particularly in the cap's design, is a direct reference to the political connotations of West's actions, while the other colors may symbolize different phases and facets of his career and life.

The expression on Kanye's face is rendered with a level of introspection, suggesting a man contemplating his own narrative and perhaps the consequences of his fame. Marcellus has deftly managed to create a piece that is as much an exploration of a public figure's inner world as it is a reflection on the culture that watches and reacts to every move he makes. The artwork invites viewers to consider the complexities of celebrity, mental health, and the weight of public perception.
